2 sugar plants in Uzbekistan dismissing their workers massively

AKIPRESS.COM - Massive dismissal of workers has started at two sugar plants that suspended operation in Uzbekistan - Angren Shakar and Khorezm Shakar, UzA reported.
130 workers were dismissed already. Almost all specialists will be dismissed before the end of this year.
Over 2,000 people will be dismissed in total.
In July 2020, the management of the sugar plants made the joint statement, saying they have to stop work over absence of raw materials.
The plants said they are on the verge of bankruptcy due to inability to compete with foreign importers and plunge of demand for their product.
