Atambayev told human rights activists reasons for his hunger strike

AKIPRESS.COM - The National Torture Prevention Center staff members visited ex-President Almazbek Atambayev in pre-trial detention center #1.
Atambayev complained about the conditions of detention center, namely the low temperature in the cell.
Atambayev said he went on a hunger strike because his trials on the Batukayev case are held behind closed doors.
"In addition, he was supposed to be transferred from the State National Security Committee remand prison to the penal colony #47 because he needs medical assistance. However, he is currently being held in the pre-trial detention center #1. He demands to hold open trials and transfer him to the penal colony #47 immediately," the statement says.
On October 27, the State Penitentiary Service reported said that Atambayev will be transferred to the penal colony #47 today.
