Head of Bishkek election commission says why he was summoned to Interior Ministry for questioning

AKIPRESS.COM - Bishkek election commission chairman said he was summoned to the Interior Ministry for questioning as part of the earlier launched pre-trial investigation into violations of electoral proces.
The Interior Ministry earlier summoned members of the Central Election Commission for questioning and seized documents. The General Prosecutor's Office said the probe was launched over numerous violations during the parliamentary elections.
"They asked questions on complaints and reports about vote buying and abuse of government resources. I said work of local election commissions was carried out line with the laws. Vote buying and misuse of government resources are competence of law enforcement agencies and without their official conclusions respective decisions of local election commissions would be hasty," Mamatov said.
He added the decisions were made on violations of the electoral process, mainly campaigning period.
