China's Covid-19 vaccine candidate to be tested on 5,000 volunteers in Uzbekistan

AKIPRESS.COM - Uzbekistan undertook to conduct the third phase of clinical trials of China's coronavirus vaccina among 5,000 its citizens.
Such agreement was reached between the Ministry of Innovative Development of Uzbekistan and Microbiology Institutute of China's Academy of Sciences.
A group of Chinese researchers are expected to arrive in Uzbekistan on November 6.
The vaccine is tested in volunteers above 18 years.
The Ministry of Innovative Development of Uzbekistan announced on October 22 it held talks with representatives of the Microbiology Institute and and Anhui Zhifei Longcom Biopharmaceutical on organization of clinical trials of coronavirus vaccine in Uzbekistan.
In case of successful completion of trials, Uzbekistan will become one of the first countries to purchase vaccine at lower price.
