AKIPRESS.COM - 19% of the tourist business in Kyrgyzstan completely closed down and plan to open only in 2021, according to the second stage of the study conducted by the Department of Tourism and the International Finance Corporation (IFC). The study's first stage was conducted in April 2020 after the introduction of first quarantine restrictions, and the second stage of the study was conducted in October 2020 to assess the impact of coronavirus on the tourist season 2020.
Representatives of tourism companies, hotels, catering and transport companies took part in the survey.
The results of the second stage of the survey conducted in October revealed the following: after the introduction of quarantine restrictions in March, 11% of respondents fully resumed work since June, 52% partially resumed work since June 1, and 18% did not close at all.
