AKIPRESS.COM - Two linear accelerators arrived at the National Oncology and Hematology Center, the Compulsory Health Insurance Fund said.
Arrival of specialists from Belarus is expected for installation of doors in the bunkers and Turkish specialists for installation of linear accelerators.
The period of installation under signed agreement between the National Oncology and Hematology Center, Compulsory Health Insurance Fund and provider MN Medical OU is 120 days. The equipment will be handed over then.
Linear accelerators were purchased on the funds provided by the Kumtor Gold Company under the resolution of the Kyrgyz government of 25 May 2018 in the amount of 270,593,184 soms.
In November 2018, the Ministry of Health announced a tender for procurement of two linear accelerators. In April 2019, the trilateral agreement was signed between the Compulsory Health Insurance Fund, National Oncology and Hematology Center and MN Medical OU on delivery of 2 linear accelerators for $3,874,778 provided by the Kumtor Gold Company.
A linear accelerator, or LINAC, is a machine that is commonly used to deliver external beam radiation treatments to cancer patients.
