2.5 billion soms needed to increase salaries of medical workers - Japarov

AKIPRESS.COM - Preparation for the second coronavirus wave is underway, there are enough beds for coronavirus patients in hospitals, heating supply issues were solved, acting President and Prime Minister Sadyr Japarov told a press conference today.
The country has supply of medicines for 2-3 months. More medicines will arrive from abroad, he said.
"There is only one issues concerning medical workers today: how to provide pay increase to them? We need to hire medical workers, many resigned due to coronavirus. Additional 2.5 billion soms in the budget are needed to increase salaries. This is considered for the next year," Japarov said.
Salaries of medical workers will be increased in the nearest time, Health Minister Alymkadyr Beishenaliev said earlier.
"When I was offered to take the Health Minister's post by acting President Sadyr Japarov, I voiced 4 problems that should be addressed. He agreed to provide support to me. The first problem was raise of salaries for medical workers. We sent 3 options to the government. Salaries of medical workers will be increased in the nearest time," the Health Minister stated.
