Uzbekistan and Tajikistan to jointly study seismic risks

AKIPRESS.COM - The Seismology Instiute of the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan and the Geology, Seismic-Resistant Construction and Seismology Instiute of the Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan signed a cooperation agreement.
Specialists will exchange methodological developments, geological, geophysical and seismological information in forecasting earthquakes and seismic risk zoning.
The Institutes will jointly study geodynamics and seismic risks, condition of plates and orogenic districts in Central Asia. They will also hold joint symposiums and conferences on seismic risks and geodynamics.
The countries will conduct macro-seismic and seismotectonic studies in epicenters of the past strong quakes, will exchange findings of seismological observations.
