Presidential candidates in Kyrgyzstan should collect at least 30,000 signatures before Dec 3

AKIPRESS.COM - 65 candidates submitted documents to the Central Election Commission to run in the snap presidential elections, two of them withdrew their documents later, Central Election Commission Vice Chairman Abdyjapar Bekmatov said today.
62 are self-nominated presidential candidates, 1 was nominated by a political party. 55 candidates are men and 8 are women, he said.
The Central Election Commission will start the procedure of registration of authorized representatives of candidates. Candidates should form the electoral fund and open an account.
"At least 30,000 signatures should be collected. This process should be finished before December 3. The candidates should transfer electoral deposit before that day," the CEC Vice Chairman said.
The Central Election Commission will check submitted documents. Registration of candidates should be completed until December 14.
Election campaigning will start since December 15.
The snap presidential elections are scheduled for January 10, 2021.
