Uzbekistan plans to vaccinate above 60% of population against coronavirus by mid-2021

AKIPRESS.COM - Vaccination of over 60% of population of Uzbekistan against coronavirus infection is planned by June 2021, Botirjon Kurbanov, First Deputy Director of the Agency for Sanitary and Epidemiological Well-Being, said during a virtual symposium on Covid-19. "We monitor who will register coronavirus infection first and who will start selling coronavirus vaccine second," Kurbanov said.
He said the Uzbek government is in talks with private structures on purchase of vaccines.
"As soon as we obtain vaccine, will immediately start vaccination of people," he added.
Minister of Innovative Development Ibrohim Abdurahmanov said earlier Uzbekistan plans trial of coronavirus vaccines of China, Russia, Europe and United States.
