AKIPRESS.COM - Almost 600 hectares of agricultural land were repurposed in Batken region for construction of houses.
The government issued resolution on repurposing of 151.1 ha of agricultural land in Batken region into land for settlements to provide population of Suu-Bashi rural municipality with land plots.
Another government resolution repurposed 148.6 ha of agricultural land in Dari rural municipality of Batken region into land for settlements, which was necessary for construction of houses.
Prime Minister Sadyr Japarov signed the resolution on transformation of 300 ha of land in Kara-Bak village of Batken district, which would allow construction of houses on the land which was agricultural land before.
Land repurposing was necessary to address social problems of population of Batken region.
Residents of Batken region demanded transformation of land for construction of houses before.
Suu-Bashi rural municipality includes 5 settlements, four of which have village status. All these settlements border with Sokh district of Uzbekistan. More than 7,000 people live in Suu-Bashi. 1,711 of them are on waiting list for land for construction of houses.
Rural municipality governor Kudaiberdi Kozuev said the land transformation problem was not resolved for the past 20 years.
Governor of Dari rural municipality Zakir Baizakov said his rural municipality includes 9 settlements. Villagers asked land transformation for construction for the past 13 years. More than 800 citizens will receive 10-ares land plots now after the government issued long-waited resolution, the governor said.
