11,800 ethnic Kazakhs returned to Kazakhstan

AKIPRESS.COM - As of November 1, 11,800 ethnic Kazakhs returned to Kazakhstan and received the status of oralmans (returnees), according to the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection. More than half of the oralmans (55.5%) who arrived in Kazakhstan were from China, 28.8% - from Uzbekistan, 9.1% - from Turkmenistan, 3.4% - from Mongolia and 2.9% - from other countries.
Majority of them settled in Almaty (52.3%), Mangistau (13.4%) and Turkestan (5.5%) regions, as well as in the cities of Nur-Sultan (4.1%) and Almaty (5.7%).
The number of immigrants of working age made 55.9%, younger than working age - 32.6%, 10.5% were pensioners.
In total since 1991 almost 1.7 million ethnic Kazakhs returned to Kazakhstan.
