Financial police chief says they are looking into corruption schemes and there are a lot of them

AKIPRESS.COM - Financial police chief Siymik Japykeev said his office has big plans for 2021. "There are many schemes we are looking into. We will prevent these corruption schemes. We are currently studying all the corruption elements that exist, and there are many of them. Now financial police works differently, you will see the results in 1-2 months. We will bring money to the budget," he said in response to MPs during the session of the parliament committee.
Deputy Prime Minister Maksat Mamytkanov said that the financial police are tasked with strategic planning. "They have to show the society that the fight against corruption is ongoing," he added.
The investigations into official and economic crimes were transferred to the financial police, he said. "One investigator cannot physically handle this number of cases at the same time, there is a lot of load on them," he said.
All cases have been transferred from the General Prosecutor's Office.
"One investigator deals with 150 cases. What quality of investigation can we talk about?" he added.
