45 babies acquired HIV from their mothers in Kyrgyzstan

AKIPRESS.COM - 1,382 children in Kyrgyzstan were born to women with HIV infection, AIDS Center specialist Erkin Tostokov said.
835 babies did not acquire HIV, he said.
"335 children will be tested after 18 months. 45 children tested positive for HIV. With regular treatment, a baby is born without virus. Mothers can breastfeed babies and live normal life like others," he said.
