AKIPRESS.COM - The 8th meeting of the Mongolia-Kazakhstan intergovernmental commission for trade, economic, scientific, technical and cultural cooperation was held virtually on November 25, Montsame reports. The meeting was chaired by A.Ariunzaya, head of the Mongolian side to the Intergovernmental Commission and Minister of Labor and Social Protection of Mongolia, and Bakhyt Sultanov, head of Kazakhstan's side to the commission and Minister of Trade and Integration of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Montsame reports.
During the meeting, the two parties exchanged views on the intensification of bilateral cooperation in trade, economy, investment, roads, transport, agriculture, tourism, culture, science, and humanitarian sectors within the framework of expanding friendly relations and cooperation between Mongolia and the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Assessing the present state of bilateral trade and economic cooperation, the parties reaffirmed their commitment to advance the works agreed at the high level. In this scope, they talked over to cooperate actively within the framework of a joint working group responsible for studying the possibility of concluding a free trade agreement between Mongolia and the Eurasian Economic Union, and concurred to work together to increase the volume and variety of bilateral trade.
Moreover, they exchanged information on the progress of documents to be signed between the two countries to strengthen relations' legal basis and decided to hold the 9th meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission in Ulaanbaatar in 2022. Ms. Ariunzaya and Mr. Sultanov signed the minutes of the meeting.
