AKIPRESS.COM - Several violations were disclosed by the Center for Torture Prevention in Jalal-Abad region mental hospital.
Alisher Ermatov, representative of the Center for Torture Prevention in Jalal-Abad region, said they received information that patients of the mental hospital were not released for walks outdoors this year.
"Patients of the mental hospital should be released for outdoor walks twice a day. The rights of patients were grossly violated. They were treated cruelly and inhumanly," Alisher Ermatov said.
"The last entry of walk is dated back to 19 December 2019. It was found out that no entries were made in the log of registration of patients going for walks in 2020. The hospital administration explained this with cold weather. We checked the security cameras and found that patients of narcology departments had outdoor walks," he added.
Besides, during check it was found out the expired medications were used in the mental hospital.
The complaints were also received about problems with meals.
The hospital chief Mahpurat Umarova refused to comment on the situation.
