HIV cases in Uzbekistan surpass 43,500

AKIPRESS.COM - Uzbekistan has registered 43,581 HIV cases as of November 1, the Ministry of Health reported with reference to National AIDS Center.
A year ago the tally of HIV cases made 42,098. The total HIV cases grew for 1,483 for a year. This is much less than in the previous year, when 3,337 HIV cases were registered for 10 months.
Uzbekistan has stabilization of HIV situation. Over 70% of people with HIV are covered by antiretroviral therapy, the AIDS Center said.
