Reason of Bishkek smog remains unexplained

AKIPRESS.COM - The reason of smog in Bishkek remains undetermined, deputy director of municipal cleaning company Tazalyk Adil Nazarov said at the meeting in Bishkek mayor's office today.
He said the smog is explained with several hypotheses.
"One of such hypotheses suggests smog is caused by the modernized part of the Bishkek combined heat and power plant, since the mistakes were allegedly made during designing stage," he said.
Another hypothesis explains the situation with car emissions. Many car owners deliberately remove catalytic converters which leads to air pollution, he added.
Besides, private houses surrounding Bishkek are also blamed for air pollution. More than 46 residential districts burn local coal for heating now, Adil Nazarkov said.
"There are several such hypotheses, but nobody can exactly say the reason," he added.
