AKIPRESS.COM - The Palriament needs to pass respective draft law to schedule the referendum, Central Election Commission Vice Chairman Abdyjapar Bekmatov told reporters.
In case the draft law is passed, the Central Election Commission will begin preparations for the referendum, he said.
"Holding the referendum and presidential elections on one day will save public funds. The money will be spent for printing ballots, their delivery to the regions and training of election commission workers," Bekmatov said.
Printing of ballots and their delivery to the regions will take 15 days, the CEC Vice Chairman said.
The Parliament of Kyrgyzstan considered the draft law on parliamentary vs presidential form of government referendum in the first reading on December 3.
