AKIPRESS.COM - Indian Army on December 7 repatriated two girls from Pakistan side of Jammu and Kashmir who had accidentally crossed over to
the Indian side across the Line of Control (LOC) in Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch district, The Times of India reported.
"We lost our way and entered Indian territory. We feared that Army personnel will beat us up but they treated us in a good manner. We had thought that they would not allow us to go back but today we are being sent home. People are good in Indian side," said Laiba Zabair, one of the two Pakistani girls.
On the morning of December 7, 17-year-old Laiba Zuber and her 13-year-old sister Sana Zubair, residents of Poonch in Pakistan side of Jammu and Kashmir, were apprehended by the Indian army when they were found moving inside the Indian side of the Line of Control.
The Indian Army found that the girls had accidentally crossed over while they were walking from their home in Abbaspur to Tattapani.
On detecting the movement of the girls on the Indian side of the LOC, Indian soldiers exercised great care and restraint to ensure their safety and security.
The Indian Army established contact with the Pakistani side and repatriated the two girls on December 7 via Chakan-Da-Bagh border check post and reunited them with their families. The swift repatriation of Pakistani girls by Indian army had received accolades from many netizens.
