Corruption risks high in Kyrgyz Health Ministry - expert

AKIPRESS.COM - Corruption risks are high in the Health Ministry of Kyrgyzstan, evidence-based medicine expert Bermet Baryktabasova said at the coordination meeting of law enforcement, fiscal and other government agencies on fight against corruption today.
Corruption risks arise in case of public procurements, she said.
Through procurements of PCR test systems, laboratories, personal protective equipment and medicines, she added.
Corruption emerges due to absence of control over procurements, she said.
"We won't defeat corruption without control. It will grow further," Bermet Baryktabasova stated.
Besides she noted a huge amount of drugs in Kyrgyzstan that have nothing to do with medicine.
"All obtained assistance should be registered and accounted," the expert stressed.
