Damage to state from crimes topped 3bn soms in 11 months

AKIPRESS.COM - Pre-trial investigation into 5,987 cases (5,418 criminal and 596 offenses) started in the first 11 months of 2020, including 1,792 official and corruption cases, said Chairman of the State Service for Combating Economic Crimes Syimyk Japykeev.
231 persons were notified about being suspects in the above crimes, he said.
Damage to the state amounted to 3.017 billion soms, including 67.3 million soms of damage from corruption. 42 million soms or 82.6% were returned to the state.
For example, 17,277,000 soms of damage was compensated in the past two months. Ex-Deputy PM Tayirbek Sarpashev returned 530 hectares of land to the state.
Corruption was revealed in local self-government bodies - 657 cases, Agency for Land Resources - 154 cases, Internal Affairs bodies - 119 cases.
