AKIPRESS.COM - The political upcoming events should be held in line with the law, General Prosecutor Kurmankul Zulushev said at the coordination meeting of law enforcement agencies today.
He reminded a coordination office was set up on November 13 for upcoming snap presidential elections ledby Deputy Prime Minister Maksat Mamytkanov.
"The October 5 events were caused by rigged elections and that law enforcement agencies did not perform their functions in full. The General Prosecutor's Office will oversee observance of laws during preparation and conduct of elections," he said.
Zulushev demanded from all law enforcement agencies to ensure respect of laws during elections: government resources should not be abused, no pressure should be exerted on medical workers, teachers, votes should not be bought. Sanctions are foreseen for these violations in line with the law, he said.
"No matter what presidential candidate, we should respond to vote buying or misuse of administrative resources," he said.
The snap presidential elections are set for January 10, 2021.
