AKIPRESS.COM - Construction of the school in Mukur village, Aksy district of Jalal-Abad region started in 2018 was halted due to shortage of public funds, Turmush reported. "Since the school building is small, classes are held in school corridor," school principal Osmon Abylkasymov said.
"Construction of the school building was halted. The foundation was made only. We hold classes in a very old building of the school. There are few classrooms and no canteen. The school is attended by 480 children," the school principal said.
The funding for construction of the school is not provided for 2 years already, local education department chief Emilbek uulu Talant said.
"One part of the old school was demolished in 2018 and construction of a new building was started. But construction was halted as no funding was provided from the public budget. Children have to study in school corridor now. The school building is outdated," the local education department chief said.
The school in Mukur village was built in 1951. The second building of the school was built in 1970.
