AKIPRESS.COM - The delegation of Uzbekistan led by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade Sardor Umurzakov today met with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Taro Aso as part of visit to Japan.
The relevant aspects of bilateral political, commercial and economic cooperation were in focus of discussions.
The sides reaffirmed commitment to implementation of the bilateral agreements reached during the visit of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Japan in December 2019, the Ministry of Investemtns and Foreign Trade reported.
The project on development of value chains in production of fruits and vegetables ongoing with JICA support was cited as an example of successful cooperation. 492 agroindustrial investment projects were supported as part of implementation of the first phase of the given project. More than 11,000 new work places were created in rural areas of Uzbekistan. The sides discussed modalities of further cooperation in implementation of next stages of the project.
At the end of the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister Taro Aso was awarded with Dustlik Order for his invaluable contribution into development of bilateral ties between Uzbekistan and Japan.
