Tajik Foreign Minister holds virtual talks with World Meteorological Organization Secretary General

AKIPRESS.COM - Tajik Foreign Minister Sirojiddin Muhriddin and Secretary-General of the World Meteorological Organization Petteri Taalas held virtual talks on December 15. During the meeting, Mr. Peteri Taalas presented a detailed information about the Water and Climate Coalition for Sustainable Development Goal 6. The objective of the coalition is to build momentum on water action through implementing concrete activities at the national, regional and global levels, the Tajik Foreign Ministry reported.
The Foreign Minister informed the Secretary General of hte World Meteorological Organization about the efforts and initiatives of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan in the field of water and climate change.
The importance of discussing the consequences of climate change and the need to protect glaciers, as well as the importance of strengthening cooperation in the framework of the Dushanbe Water Process was noted.
