Over 467,000 migrant workers return to Uzbekistan amid Covid-19 pandemic

AKIPRESS.COM - Over 467,000 migrant workers returned to Uzbekistan for 11 months of this year, the Mahalla and Family Support Ministry reported.
Particularly, 257,000 migrants returned from Russia, 129,000 from Kazakhstan, 12,000 from Turkey, over 66,000 from South Korea and other countries.
A significant part of returned migrants (49%) worked in construction sector. 11.4% of migrants worked at industrial enterprises, 7.8% were engaged in agriculture, 10.5% in trade and other services, 21.2% worked in other spheres.
President Mirziyoyev said earlier this month more than 500,000 migrants were brought back to Uzbekistan. Assistance was provided to almost 100,000 migrants in difficult situation abroad.
