AKIPRESS.COM - Voters in Kyrgyzstan should be aware of abolishment of the form #2 allowing citizens to vote at place different than their domicile registration, Deputy Prime Minister Maksat Mamytkanov told a press briefing today. "In order to hold elections transparently, the Parliament has made the political decision and abolished the form #2. Citizens are included into the voter list at the place of their registration. Many citizens live in places different from their registered domicile and they have lots of questions now," he added.
Citizens have to register at the place of their current residence to be able to vote in the upcoming elections, he added.
"The biggest violations in the past parliamentary elections were related with abuse of the form #2, which outraged citizens. This time we won't make such mistake, it was a political decision," Mamytkanov said.
3,778,151 voters have registration at the place of their residence in Kyrgyzstan. 3,544,503 citizens were included into the voter list.
