AKIPRESS.COM - The US State Department has notified Congress of the approval of the possible sale to Kazakhstan of two King Air B300ER Scorpion aircraft with intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance systems, Sputnik Kazakhstan reported with reference to RIA Novosti. The US Defense and Security Cooperation Agency has issued a statement about the upcoming deal, neweurope.eu reported.
"The State Department has decided to approve a possible foreign military sale to the government of Kazakhstan of King Air B300ER Scorpion aircraft with reconnaissance, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) systems, and related equipment at an estimated cost of $128.1 million," the agency said in a statement.
The Agency for Security and Defense Cooperation has also provided the necessary certification to notify Congress of a possible sale of aircraft to the republic.
The statement notes that the Kazakh government has made a request to purchase two King Air B300ER Scorpion aircraft, as well as sets of sensors, radars, and other equipment.
King Air B300ER Scorpion Aircraft is an easily adaptable multifunctional platform capable of carrying cargo, reconnaissance, or border protection. These aircraft are actively used by law enforcement agencies and the military around the world.
The aircraft's modular design allows it to be quickly reconfigured to meet specific needs. This operation usually takes less than six hours.
