At least 1 family member lost job in about 22% of households in Kyrgyzstan due to COVID-19 pandemic: Study

AKIPRESS.COM - About 22% of households reported that at least one household member lost a job or had to return from abroad due to job loss, according to the study on the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on households in Kyrgyzstan conducted by the National Statistics Committee from October 15 to November 15, 2020.
About 5% of households reported being forced to return from abroad due to job loss and about 20% of households reported losing their jobs in homeland.
Members of more than 66% of households experienced difficulty in finding protective and hygienic products due to their unavailability or buying them due to high cost, the study finds.
At the same time, 60% of households had difficulty with buying masks and gloves, and 52% had difficulty purchasing hygiene and sanitation products.
