Over 3.7 million citizens register their biometric information in Kyrgyzstan

AKIPRESS.COM - Since the past October parliamentary elections, the voter list was increased for 40,000 people, State Registration Service's Strategic Development Department Chief Alibek Smagulov said. He said 3,785,450 citizens above 16 years registered their biometric information.
"3,563,574 of them were included into voter list. In average, we have around 4 million people above 18 years. Hence, 405,000 citizens have not registered their biometric information and were not included into the voter lists yet. These are people who are abroad," Smagulov said.
The number of voters outside Kyrgyzstan grew since the past parliamentary elections as well, he added. "The voter list abroad grew for 34,000 people. We had around 13,000 voters before and now the voter list abroad includes 49,479 voters," Alibek Smagulov stated.
