Rural municipality governor detained on power abuse charges

AKIPRESS.COM - The State National Security Committee (SNSC) detained the governor of Sarai rural municipality of Kara-Suu district, Zamirbek Turgunbaev, on January 6 on power abuse charges.
The SNSC said the budget of construction of a 720-sudent school in Kirov village was overstated for more than 24 million soms. Besides, the governor and other officials allowed commissioning of the school despite the quality of construction was unsatisfactory.
Zamirbek Turgunbaev ran in 4 October 2020 parliamentary elections from Mekenim Kyrgyzstan party (he was candidate No. 119).
