Kyrgyzstan observes election silence day ahead of early presidential elections

AKIPRESS.COM - The election silence day is in effect in Kyrgyzstan since 8.00 a.m. of January 9 ahead of tomorrow's early presidential elections.
17 presidential candidates were registered by the Central Election Commission earlier.
Citizens will vote in the referendum tomorrow as well in order to choose between parliamentary or presidential systems.
Campaigning activities by presidential candidates are prohibited today.
Campaigning is not allowed in registered media outlets either.
Those breaching election silence day requirements will face sanctions from the Central Election Commission.
