Assembly of People of Kazakhstan to elect 9 members of Mazhilis

AKIPRESS.COM - On January 11, the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan will elect 9 members to the Mazhilis, lower house of the parliament of Kazakhstan, after general vote on Jan 10.
According to the law, 9 non-partisan members will be elected to the lower house by the APK. Yesterday, Kazakhstan held elections to the parliament by party lists.
5 political parties took part in the elections, including the Nur Otan, Ak Zhol, People's Party of Kazakhstan, Adal and Auyl. According to the exit polls, Nur Otan won 71.9%, Ak Zhol won 10.2% and the People's Party of Kazakhstan won 9-9.5%.
The Mazhilis consists of 107 members. 98 MPs are elected in direct voting by population and 9 by the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan.
