AKIPRESS.COM - 9 members of the Mazhilis, the lower house of the Kazakh parliament, were elected by the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan.
351 members of the Assembly cast their ballots, 4 ballots were declared invalid, said chairwoman of the Nur-Sultan election commission Bakhyt Bektemissova.
Sauytbek Abdrakhmanov, a member of the Mazhilis of the VI convocation from the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan won 298 votes; Director of Kokshetau Humanitarian-Technical Lyceum-School Natalia Dementieva - 292; chairman of the Association of Azerbaijanis Abilfas Khamedov - 290; vice-president of the Barbang Kurds association Vakil Nabiev - 285, chairman of the National Chamber of Collectors of Kazakhstan Yuri Lee - 282; General Director of LLP ZhetysuOblGaz Vladimir Tokhtasunov - 277; head of Sortobinsk rural district of Korday district of Zhambyl region Ilyas Bularov- 274; Director of the branch of the Congress of Tatars and Bashkirs of Kazakhstan in Karaganda region Shamil Osin - 271; Chairman of the West Kazakhstan regional Armenian ethno-cultural public association Masis Avetik Amirkhanyan - 270.
The Mazhilis consists of 107 members. 98 MPs are elected in direct voting by population and 9 by the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan.
Yesterday, Kazakhstan held elections to the parliament by party lists.
5 political parties took part in the elections, including the Nur Otan, Ak Zhol, People's Party of Kazakhstan, Adal and Auyl. According to the exit polls, Nur Otan won 71.9%, Ak Zhol won 10.2% and the People's Party of Kazakhstan won 9-9.5%.
