Around 1,000 gather at at Ala-Too square to celebrate Sadyr Japarov's landslide victory in early presidential elections

AKIPRESS.COM - Around 1,000 people gathered at Ala-Too central square in Bishkek to celebrate victory of Sadyr Japarov in the early presidential elections, who gained 79.2% of votes.
The concert of local pop and folk singers started at 3.00 p.m.
Organizers of the event said this is not victory of one candidate, but victory of all people.
Police blocked streets leading to the central square since 1.00 p.m. today.
"In such difficult times I am going to take the future of the nation in my hands," Sadyr Japarov said in his address to his fans at the square.
"You have made your choice on January 10. You took an active part in elections and referendum. The time has come when the end will be put to irresponsibility that lasted for 30 years," he said.
"The path to development of Kyrgyzstan starts today. We encountered so many difficulties: economic crisis, a difficult situation for population due to unemployment and poverty. There are ideas how to develop the economy of Kyrgyzstan," Japarov said.
