Kyrgyzstan and Hungary discuss cooperation in higher education

AKIPRESS.COM - Minister of Education and Science Almazbek Beishenaliev met with Ambassador of Hungary to Kyrgyzstan Sandor Dorogi.
Scholarship program Stipendium Hungaricum is one of the most active areas of cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Hungary, Education Minister Beishenaliev said.
This program is the most popular direction for students from Kyrgyzstan. Its recent increase to 150 quotas is very timely, the Minister added.
The sides agreed to consider establishment of the joint Kyrgyz-Hungarian science foundation, joint consortium of universities that could cooperate in expansion of academic mobility of faculty and scholar exchange, launch of joint academic programs.
Ambassador Sandor Dorogi noted cooperation with Osh State University in establishment of the Hungarian Center, which will have books and materials for popularization of learning of Hungarian language by students in Kyrgyzstan. Hungary is interested in expansion of this project with universities in Bishkek, the Ambassador said.
The Ambassador said Hungary is ready to consider possible increase of scholarships for students from Kyrgyzstan in priorit areas.
