Mongolia's total trade turnover reached $12.9 billion in 2020

AKIPRESS.COM - Mongolia traded with 146 countries of the world in 2020 and the total trade turnover reached USD 12.9 billion, including $7.6 billion in exports and $5.3 billion in imports, Montsame reports. Total foreign trade turnover decreased by USD 876.9 million (6.4%), of which exports decreased by USD 43.3 million (0.6%) and imports decreased by USD 833.6 million (13.6%) from the previous year.
In December 2020, exports and imports reached to USD 721.2 million and USD 407.3 million, respectively. Compared to the previous month, exports decreased by USD 147.8 million (17.0%) and imports decreased by USD 42.3 million (9.4%).
The foreign trade balance was in surplus of USD 2.3 billion in 2020, while it was in surplus of USD 1.5 billion in 2019, increased by USD 790.3 million from the previous year.
The USD 43.3 million decrease in exports from the previous year was resulted from the decreases in exports of USD 17.9 million in copper concentrates and USD 952.2 million in coal.
