Cardiovascular diseases accounted for 60% of registered deaths, 8% - cancer, 7.2% - respiratory diseases, 4.4% - digestive diseases, 4.4% - accidents, poisoning, injuries, 4.4% - communicable and parasitic diseases, 11.6% - other diseases.
154,600 people died in 2019; 154,900 in 2018; 160,700 in 2017; 154,700 in 2016; 152,000 in 2015.
Health Minister of Uzbekistan Abdukhakim Khajibaev said earlier statistics on COVID-19 fatalities will not be publisized. The official request was required for obtaining such information.
"This is not secret. If someone asks officially to provide statistics, this information will be provided," the Minister said. He added this information will not be disclosed in other cases.
According to the latest information of the Ministry of Health, the total number of confirmed coronavirus cases reached 78,036. The total number of deaths from coronavirus infection reached 619.
