AKIPRESS.COM - The information on air pollution on Air Quality website and the official information of the Kyrgyz Meteorological Office differ, MP Almaz Toktorov said in Parliament today.
Met Office Deputy Director Meerim Asanbai kyzy responded that information is provided from each station where air pollutants are measured.
"Our Met Office has only one station that measures PM2.5 concentration. We purchased 50 sensors and the information on air pollution will be available since February," she said.
When asked by parliamentarians whether Air Visual sensors provide accurate information, Meerim Asanbai kyzy said the technical dimensions of these sensors need to be checked. "There is such notion as margin of error. Fog, high humidity may lead to high concentration of air pollutants," she said.
She said Air Visual sensors used by Air Quality website are amateur, non-professional and as such they have a big margin of errors. "That means when we have high humidity or fog, they may display high concentration of air pollutants," she explained.
