AKIPRESS.COM - The real number of deaths from COVID-19 singificantly differs from official statistics, Deputy Prime Minister Elvira Surabaldieva said.
"COVID-19 fatalities may be higher for several thousands than the official figures," she said.
The Deputy Prime Minister said the third clinical protocol for treatment of coronavirus infection was approved in spring. "This protocol included anticoagulants. The protocol was published on May 15, but for some reasons the protocol reached medical professionals on June 18. Pharmaceutical companies received a list of essential medicines needed for the country only in July. The essential medicines, anticoagulants, were brought into the country in mid-July during peak of coronavirus cases," Elvira Surabaldieva said.
The interdepartmental commission found discrepancies in number of COVID-19 deaths, untimely adoption of the protocols for COVID-19 treatment, inefficient registration and distribution of humanitarian aid, the government's press service reported on January 20.
