Kazakhstan ranks 50th in the world by severity of coronavirus

AKIPRESS.COM - Kazakhstan ranks 109th out of 221 countries by the number of coronavirus cases per 1 million people, 67th by the number of tests done, 94th by death toll, 48th by the number of people who recovered from COVID-19 and 50th by the severity of the disease, according to WHO, said Minister of Health Alexei Tsoy.
Minister reported to the President that 33% of beds in virus hospitals and 21% of beds in intensive care units are taken.
There is also a 4-fold decrease in the country's coronavirus death rate compared to July 2020.
President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev instructed the minister to keep the epidemiological situation under tight control, ensure proper preparation for mass vaccination, do everything needed on time.
The total number of confirmed cases since the beginning of the pandemic reached 173,842 in Kazakhstan, almost 2.5 thousand people have died and more than 150 thousand patients have recovered.
