Almost 4,000 volunteers get first shots of China's coronavirus vaccine in Uzbekistan

AKIPRESS.COM - The Advanced Technologies Center under the Ministry of Innovative Development of Uzbekistan and the Virology Research Institute of the Ministry of Health are conducting the third phase of clinical trials of recombinant coronavirus vaccine ZF2001 developed by Chinese company Anhui Zhifei Loncom Biofharmaceutical. 8,153 people underwent screening as of January 20.
3,917 volunteers received the first dose of the vaccine. 120 people received 2 doses of ZF 2001 vaccine.
It was announced earlier Uzbekistan ordered 100,000 doses of Comirnaty vaccine developed by Pfizer and BioNTech. The vaccine is expected to be delivered to Uzbekistan in the near time. Medical workers and elderly people will be vaccinated first. This amount of doses will suffice for vaccination of 50,000 people.
