AKIPRESS.COM - More than 3,000 people were detained at protest actions throughout Russia held in support of Putin's critic Alexey Navalny, OVD-Info reported.
Human rights activists said 3,068 people were detained as of 11.43 p.m Moscow time, most of them were in Moscow - 1,167. St. Petersburg is on the second place in number of detentions - 466, Novosibirsk is the third - 96.
According to Child Ombudsman Anna Kuznetsva there are more than 300 minors among detainees.
Unsanctioned protest actions in support of oppositioner Alexey Navalny were held in Russian cities on January 23. Navalny was detained on January 17 upon arrival in Russia.
Protesters clashed with riot police, several criminal probes were launched.
