AKIPRESS.COM - The Ministry of Labor and Social Development will launch social protection helpline 117 with support of UNFPA and UK.
The helpline is aimed to improve social support of people in difficult life situation, including victims of gender and domestic violence.
Workers of local departments of labor and social development will consult citizens on issues handled by the Ministry.
The helpline will be integrated with the social assistance information system and interdepartmental communication plaform Tunduk in future.
"The helpline 117 is one of important measures of support of domestic violence victims. It allows to promptly respond to cases of violence, to obtain data for further prevention of violence, to montior the situation for policy making and to provide legal and psychological assistance to victims," Minister of Labor and Social Development Aliza Soltonbekova said.
"I would like to thank our development partners - UNFPA and UK Ambassador Charles Garret and people of UK - for provided technical assistance. We receive telephones and hands-free kits now that will allow us to launch the helpline since February," the Minister said.
