AKIPRESS.COM - President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and South Korea President Moon Jae-in held the virtual summit on January 28.
The leaders instructed line agencies to continue contacts at the level of government and agencies of Uzbekistan and South Korea for advancement of investment projects and prompt solution of arising issues. Implementation of projects worth up to $400 million with investments from South Korea is expected this year, the Uzbek president's press service reported.
The work is in progress on 55 new projects in high-tech sectors for over $3.4 billion, including energy sector, oil and gas industry, pharmaceutical industry, processing industry, agriculture, modernization of infrastructure, transport, logistics, tourism.
The Presidents reviewed the schedule of upcoming top-level events. Moon Jae-in invited Shavkat Mirziyoyev to visit South Korea.
The memorandum of cooperation in digitalization for facilitation of the fourth industrial revolution, agreement on $1 billion worth 3-year program with the Economic Development Cooperation Fund, loan agreements for construction of multi-field clinic and Chemical Technologies Center were signed at the summit.
The agreements on modernization of energy sector facilities in Uzbekistan were signed between leading companies, the press service said.
