Uzbekistan repatriates 24 citizens from Afghanistan

AKIPRESS.COM - 24 nationals of Uzbekistan were evacuated from Afghanistan on March 2 as part of the humanitarian operation Mekhr 4 (Kindness 4) through the Khairaton bridge linking Surkhandarya region of Uzbekistan with Afghanistan.
They incuded 19 minors, 4 orphans among them, Kun.uz reported.
From 2017 to 2020, some 86 citizens of Uzbekistan were repatriated in cooperation with special services of Afghanistan. They all fought on the side of illegal groups of militants.
23 men, 16 women and 47 children were deported from Afghanistan so far.
On December 8, 2020, some 98 nationals of Uzbekistan were repatriated from Syria as part of Mekhr 3 operation, including 25 women and 73 children.
39 boys and 25 girls remained without parental custody were repatriated from Syria as part of Mekhr-2 operation in October 2019.
The first group of 156 women and children was airlifted to Tashkent on May 30, 2019 as part of the first humanitarian operation Mekhr.
