Google registers as tax payer in Tajikistan

AKIPRESS.COM - Google has been registered in the Tax Committee of Tajikistan as payer of a tax levied on e-commerce services provided by foreign companies, Khovar news agency reported with reference to the Tax Committee under the government of Tajikistan. In accordance with the law passed on 17 December 2020, foreign individuals and companies providing e-services should pay value added tax. This law applies to foreign platforms selling digital content to individuals in Tajikistan.
Foreign companies are required to register with tax authorities no later than 20 days after start of delivery of e-services.
Alongside Google and Facebook, such companies as Doodle Inc, Novatech IT Ltd and Xsolla were registered as tax payers in Tajikistan.
