AKIPRESS.COM - Kazakhstan's Health Minister Alexey Tsoi offered Uzbekistan's Health Minister Abdukhakim Hajibaev to consider possibility of production of Kazakh coronavirus vaccine QazCovid-in at a pharmaceutical enterprise in Uzbekistan.
The delegation of Kazakhstan led by Deputy Prime Minister Yeraly Tugzhanov made a working visit to Uzbekistan on March 4, the press service of the Ministry of Health said.
The delegation also met with Deputy Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Bekhzod Musaev.
Deputy Prime Minister Yeraly Tugzhanov invited Uzbek colleagues to visit the leading medical centers of Kazakhstan providing hi-tech medical services, to explore introduction of information technologies at primary health care level, to visit pharmaceutical production ventures.
Health Minister Alexey Tsoi suggested development of a cooperation agreement between the Health Ministries of the two countries.
The road map for expansion and deepening of cooperation between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan was adopted in November 2020. It includes issues of industrial cooperation in pharmaceutical industry: construction of factory for production of medications and disinfectants in Shymkent during 2020-2022, launch of pharmaceutical joint ventures in Uzbekistan in 2021.
It was announced QazCovid-in vaccine is undergoing the third phase of clinical trials. Its effectiveness is preliminary estimated at 96%.
