Nearly 100 people blocked road in Naryn region demanding faster repair

AKIPRESS.COM - On March 10, residents of Jumgal district of Naryn region blocked the road to express outrage with the poor condition of the road. About 100 people gathered on the road section. Representatives of the Ministry of Transport, Deputy Governor of Naryn region Adyl Saparov, and the district head Zalkar Bozbalaev met with those gathered.
At the time of the blockage, 20 heavy vehicles were idling on the section of the road.
Road works were not completed in Kuyruchuk village on the road section between the settlements of Bash-Kuugandy and Kochkor.
"The condition of the road is poor. We had hoped that the road would be better after the repair. Now we are being told that another company is to start the road work. Why contractors change every time the government changes?! If our demands are not met by March 15, we will be forced to block the road," said the villagers earlier.
